PARENTS/PLAYERS:

Membership  in the SWFJGA is open to all children ages 8-18 without regard to religion, sex, disability or national origin.  A limited number of Association sponsored memberships based on hardship are available.  Applications are available upon request and will be reviewed by the Board of  

9 hole juniors or those under the age requirement of 13 wishing to play up in the 18 hole division, must forward a request along with a letter of recommendation from their PGA/LPGA golf professional (Can not be related to the player).  The player must demonstrate sufficient golf skill, maturity level, and ability to maintain a pace of play for the group they are signing up for. All requests must be submitted to the Board of Directors for review and approval.

SWFJGA, Tournament Directors, Members of the Board, host courses and clubs, against; of; and from any and all claims of any kind or nature including liabilities, cost, expenses, and attorney fees growing out of or connected with the participation or presence during tournaments or associated activities. 

A Physician at a clinic or hospital, if treatment is deemed necessary. I further give permission for any treatment, and I will accept full responsibility for payment.

Players Agreement:
By checking the following box, the player agrees to play by the rules and policies set forth by SWFJGA as well as the USGA rules of golf for 2011. 

Short Shorts, T-shirts, tanks tops, denim, and cut offs will not be tolerated. Boys must wear shirts with collars and sleeves,. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Girls must wear a collared shirt with sleeves, a shirt with a collar and no sleeves, or a shirt with sleeves and no collar.  Shorts must fall past your finger tips when hanging your arms at your side.  Hats must be worn forward and appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. 

Proper sportsmanship is to be shown to all players, officials, spectators and parents at all times.  Spectators, parents or fellow competitor advice during play is strictly prohibited. 

Scores are to be written on the score card after you clear the green , before you tee off on the next hole.  Should a dispute arise on the scoring of a hole the player keeping the score should note the score they have and foot note the score the player is disputing and address the issue with the first rules official they come in contact with during the course of player.  

Golf is a game of honesty and integrity, as a player it is your responsibility to protect the integrity of the field by making sure scores are accurately recorded and signed before turning in your score card.

Parents please make sure your junior member reads and understands the above Player Agreement.  Be aware that the Board of Directors of SWFJGA will be focused on scoring issues.  Players will be discreetly observed during play and plans are in place to spot check score cards after they are signed.  If there are proven inconsistencies, disqualification will occur.

Spectator Rules and Regulations

The following are the rules and regulations the Southwest Florida Junior Golf Association would like player spectators, family members and guest to comply with.  The Junior playing member is responsible for informing spectators of these rules and is subject to loss of strokes or disqualification for violations. These rules are in place for the protection of our junior members and the integrity of the game of golf.  Please read them carefully.

 

  1. Spectators must stay at least 50 feet from any player.  Spectators may rent a cart from the host course (if permitted) form the golf shop.  Spectators must stay on the cart path at least 50 feet from the players.  Possible exception would be if you are ask to shuttle players by a tournament official between holes, due to distance or maintain/regain pace of play. 
  2.  "Fore spotting" (positioning yourself in front of the play and observing shots that may be lost or out of bounds). "Fore Spotting" is appreciated. 
  3. All Players are responsible for their own equipment.  This includes towels, refreshments, snacks, etc.  The only exceptions are what the tournament committee has defined to be permissible, shuttle of players, drinks distribution, etc.
  4. Avoid  conversation with the players once play has started.  This will avoid any appearance of providing assistance/advice to the players, which could result in a player receiving a two stroke penalty or possible disqualifications.
  5. Scoring is solely the responsibility of the players.  Spectators are not to involve themselves with rulings or scoring as this is an important part of their learning process.
  6. Refrain from criticizing or demeaning a player for a stroke or score. 
  7. Promote sportsmanship equally for all players. 
  8. Respect the golf course facility.  Leave the course as good as, if not better than the condition you found it.  Please do not litter, if you see litter pick it up.  It is an honor and a privilege to play at these facilities.  We depend on them to provide the opportunities for our members.  Keeping with this policy insures our future relationships with them. 
  9. Our courses are donated for our players to use, these facilities have dress codes in place for players and spectators,  Please make sure that your attire is appropriate for the event that is occurring.  Be assured, if your attire is inappropriate you will be approached by the Tournament Coordinator or a SWFJGA Board Member. 

Please respect the rules.  These tournaments are for the juniors to experience competition, become responsible for their actions, learn sportsmanship, gain friendships and understand that tournament golf is different from a casual round of golf.  Should you have any questions or concerns during play please bring it to the attention of an SWFJGA official immediately.

The SWFJGA will be utilizing the USGA GHIN software program for the 13-18 year old 18 hole members only .  New members playing in this age group are required to be assign a GHIN number for tracking scores and handicap.  An $8.00 setup fee will apply, please add this to your payment.  If you are a new member and already have a GHIN number please note in the check box below so the system only has one number assigned to you.     For returning members you will continue to use your previously assigned GHIN number.  The USGA GHIN system is used to track scores and assign a player a golf handicap index. You can post a score at your local golf club or post your scores online at www.GHIN.com.  You can assign and should assign all playing rounds to the GHIN system.  This number will stay with the junior for the rest of their golfing career. For members that do not remember their GHIN number use the contact page and we will email it to you.

Annual fees are as follows:

$115.00 for the first child - $95.00 for the second child - $75.00 for each additional child.
