SWFJGA members that received a 2011 Southwest Florida PGA Chapter Scholarship. 
Southwest Florida Chapter of the PGA has supported our organization for years. This year we received a grant award in the amount of $4000.00. The board, players and parents would like to thank the local PGA Professionals for your ongoing support. It is greatly appreciated and will go towards our mission of supporting Junior Golf and providing scholarship to our deserving members.
Our season is fast approaching and we should have the online application and Paypal up and running soon. Please be patient. We hope to have the rest of the courses secured by mid May and look forward to a big turn out this coming season. We will be playing some courses that will require the help of parent volunteers and will be sending out notices via email.
I would like to announce that we have added a 9 Hole Tournament Director, Bryan Murphy. Bryan is the 1st Assistant Golf Professional at Olde Hickory CC and is a welcomed addition to our organization. Mike Chesnover will be helping Bryan in order to have a smooth transition for the 9 hole division.
Please welcome Larry Marone as our newest Board Member. Larry lives in Charlotte county and has a daughter Meaghan who will be playing this season. It is nice to have a parent from that area to spread the word about SWFJGA.
Several months back Brad Roberts joined our organization as the first graduate of our program to become a board member. The legacy of the organization continues and it is what we are all about. There are more spots open and we can always use extra help.
A group of us recently cleaned out our storage unit and found some old items. For those of you who do not remember the old logo, yes we have been around since 1974. Thanks to all of the people who have kept this great program running for so many years.
